Basketball Recap: Amerah Ambriz's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Strathmore over Exeter

Strathmore suffered their closest defeat since January 14th on Saturday. They fell just short of the Exeter Monarchs by a score of 37-34. The Spartans just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Several Spartans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Amerah Ambriz, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 11 points. Another player making a difference was Dayanara Topete, who posted 14 points.

Strathmore's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Exeter, they moved to 2-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Strathmore will face off against Arvin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Exeter, they will challenge Woodlake at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
