Basketball Recap: Daviess County Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Daviess County faced off against Grayson County on Monday. The Daviess County Panthers fell just short of the Grayson County Cougars by a score of 86-84. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 74-58 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Daviess County's defeat dropped their record down to 17-6. As for Grayson County, they pushed their record up to 20-6 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home.

Daviess County and Grayson County should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Kentucky Rankings. Daviess County will challenge Madisonville-North Hopkins at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday up 66 places (34 vs. 100). Similarly, Grayson County (ranked 50th) will meet Hancock County (ranked 221st) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
