Basketball Recap: UIC College Prep's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak on the Road

On Wednesday, the UIC College Prep Firecats were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 50-44 to the Northside Mustangs.

Despite the loss, UIC College Prep still got an impressive performance from Adam Matthews, who posted ten points in addition to four steals and three blocks. That's the most points Matthews has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Andre Boone Jr, who put up six points.

UIC College Prep's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-11. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33 points. As for Northside, they pushed their record up to 11-17 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

UIC College Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-28 win against Wolcott College Prep on the 20th. As for Northside, they have also already played their next match, a 104-48 defeat against St. Patrick on the 21st.
