Softball Recap: Saturday's Loss Ends Haverling's Winning Streak

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Haverling can now relate to. They fell 4-0 to the Chatham Panthers on Saturday. The match marked the first time this season in which the Rams were not able to get on the board.

Kaili Witherell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 19 consecutive appearances.

The defeat snapped Haverling's winning streak at 17 games and leaves them with a 21-4 record. As for Chatham, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season.
