Hammond Bishop Noll won the last time they faced Merrillville and things went their way on Saturday too. The Warriors blew past the Pirates 21-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.
Madelynn (Maddie) Queen and Molly Whelan made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Queen pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Whelan tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. At bat, Queen went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI, while Whelan scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Makenzie Dillahunty was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aiyanna (Yani) Espinosa, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Hammond Bishop Noll always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .694. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Merrillville only posted an OBP of .238.
