Basketball Recap: Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary Takes a Loss

After flying high against Downtown Magnets last Saturday, Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary came back down to earth. The Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary Cardinals fell to the Mary Star of the Sea Stars 56-50. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 58-39 back in January.

Despite the loss, Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary still got an impressive performance from Jose Padilla, who posted 16 points and seven steals. Padilla's evening made it 15 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Aldo Herrera was another key player, putting up six points.

Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-13 record this season. As for Mary Star of the Sea, their win bumped their record up to 18-8.

Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mary Star of the Sea, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against La Salle at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. La Salle is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.5 points per game this season.
