Football Recap: Costa Mesa Takes a Loss

Despite a strong season so far, Costa Mesa has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 26-21 heartbreaker at the hands of the Garden Grove Argonauts. If the Mustangs were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Argonauts when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Emma Freeland threw for 185 yards on 13 of 19 attempts. Kassandra Ramirez was her top target, picking up 57 receiving yards.

Costa Mesa's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Garden Grove, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-7 record this season.

Costa Mesa has already played their next match (against Ocean View), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Garden Grove also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Buena Park.
