Baseball Preview: Boyertown Bears vs. Upper Perkiomen Indians        
        
		
            The Boyertown Bears will venture away from home to  take on the Upper Perkiomen Indians  at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Both come into the  contest bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
Boyertown took a loss when they played away from home  on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed  on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Daniel Boone  a   5-0 shutout. The  win was a breath of fresh air for the Bears as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Boyertown got a great performance from  Christian Tonini as he  didn't allow a single  earned run over five innings pitched.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Nick Ellis, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in both of his plate appearances.
Upper Perkiomen never got on the board in their matchup on Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Pottstown on Tuesday. They blew past the Trojans 13-2. The  victory continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won nine in a row.
 Grayson Sabo was a major factor no matter where he played. He  struck out seven batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   one  hit. Sabo was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with three  RBI and one  double. That  double was  his first of the season.
 In other batting news, Upper Perkiomen let  Jordin Dice and  Jack Rieg run wild. Dice  scored three  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances, while  Rieg  scored two  runs while going 2-for-4. Those  two  stolen bases gave  Dice a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Brayden Adam, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Upper Perkiomen  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 13  hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pottstown only managed four  hits.
 Boyertown's record is now 2-5. As for Upper Perkiomen, their record now sits at 5-3.
 Boyertown might still be hurting after the  8-1 loss they got from Upper Perkiomen  in their previous meeting  back in April of 2024. Can the Bears avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
