Baseball Game Preview: South Columbus Stallions vs. Heide Trask Titans

The South Columbus Stallions will head out to square off against the Heide Trask Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Columbus will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.

South Columbus' pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They came out on top against West Columbus by a score of 4-0.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Heide Trask and East Bladen meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Titans took a 16-11 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.

Trey Cheatham was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kasem Scarlett, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

South Columbus' win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Heide Trask, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.

South Columbus beat Heide Trask 8-4 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Stallions repeat their success, or do the Titans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
