Softball Game Preview: Harding Raiders vs. Canfield Cardinals

Harding is 0-10 against Canfield since May of 2019 but things could change on Monday. The Raiders will square off against the Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. Harding has given up an average of 10.2 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Harding lost 17-3 to McKinley on Friday.

Harding saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Karly Trisler, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Meanwhile, Canfield was able to grind out a solid victory over Poland Seminary on Thursday, taking the game 8-4. The Cardinals haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Canfield's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Harding, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Harding suffered a grim 18-0 defeat to Canfield in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
