Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Lauren Powers and Kirkley Lowe Lead Greensburg to Victory

Greensburg had won five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Monday they bumped up to 7-1 to make it six. They came out on top against the Batesville Bulldogs by a score of 3-1. This was payback for the Pirates, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Leading Greensburg to victory were Kirkley Lowe and Lauren Powers. Lowe had 15 digs and three assists, while Powers had eight digs and one assist. That's the most digs Lowe has posted over her last six matches.

As for Batesville, they now have a losing record of 1-2. As for they, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Despite the loss, Batesville saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Madelyn Dierckman had ten digs and two aces.

Greensburg didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Lawrenceburg on the 26th. As for Batesville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Franklin County on the 26th.
