Basketball Game Preview: Brookfield Warriors vs. Garfield G-Men

Brookfield and Garfield are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The Brookfield Warriors will square off against the Garfield G-Men at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Brookfield is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, Brookfield came up short against Newton Falls and fell 48-35. The game marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Garfield, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against Crestview by a score of 50-43 on Tuesday.

Garfield's win came from a few key players Brookfield will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Aidan Hill, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 17 rebounds. Those 17 boards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Preston Gedeon, who posted 21 points.

Garfield smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

Garfield pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Brookfield, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.

Brookfield came out on top in a nail-biter against Garfield when the teams last played back in January, sneaking past 66-63. The rematch might be a little tougher for Brookfield since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
