Basketball Recap: Crespi Falls Short Against Ranked Sierra Canyon

On Wednesday, Crespi faced Sierra Canyon in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Crespi Celts fell 71-62 to the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers. The Celts were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trailblazers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Crespi lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Isaiah Barnes, who posted 12 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton White, who had 13 points.

Crespi's defeat dropped their record down to 16-6. As for Sierra Canyon, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-3.

Crespi will look to defend their home court on Friday against Chaminade at 7:00 p.m. Crespi knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 contests -- so hopefully Chaminade likes a good challenge. As for Sierra Canyon, they will venture away from home to take on St. Francis at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Sierra Canyon's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven games.
