Softball Recap: Slippery Rock Rockets vs. Sharon Tigers

After flying high against Grove City last Tuesday, Slippery Rock came back down to earth. The Slippery Rock Rockets took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sharon Tigers on Friday. Slippery Rock has not had much luck with Sharon recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Lyla Runtas made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-3.

On Sharon's side, Madelyn Vogan was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Vogan has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in seven consecutive pitching appearances. Vogan was also big at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a home run and two runs.

In other batting news, Mary Claire Brown was incredible, going 2-for-3 with a home run, four RBI, and a double.
