It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Manchester had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They skirted past the Eastern Comets 3-2. The Squires have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Comets, too.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (106-104) Manchester actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 28-26, 17-25, 19-25, 25-17, 15-13.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Manchester to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hadley West, who had 12 digs.

Manchester was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. They are a perfect 3-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

Despite the loss, Eastern saw an underclassman step up: Savannah Smith had 12 digs and two aces.

The victory made it two in a row for Manchester and bumps their season record up to 25-6. As for Eastern, they moved to 27-5 with that defeat, which also ended their 12-game winning streak.

Manchester is on the road again on Saturday to play Oak Hill at 1:00 p.m. Oak Hill will roll in looking for their 17th straight win, something Manchester surely won't give up without a fight. Eastern does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
