Football Recap: Benbrook Starts Season with Victory Against Castleberry

Benbrook gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Castleberry Lions 47-45. The Bobcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

Leading Benbrook to victory were Carlos Harris and Brennan Barton. Harris gained 181 total yards and three touchdowns, while Barton rushed for 90 yards and one touchdown on only 11 carries. What's more, Harris posted three rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in September of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Castleberry lost, don't look at Bryan Ceniceros. Despite the final result, he picked up 196 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Ceniceros showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 69 yards. Jaydin Locks was in the mix as well, providing Castleberry with two scores.

Benbrook has already played their next match, a 52-48 win against Whitney on the 4th. As for Castleberry, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 43-0 victory against South Hills on the 5th.
