Volleyball Recap: Boone Grove's Run of Five Straight Victories Now Over

Boone Grove dropped their record down to 9-3 on Saturday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Zionsville Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolves of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

Maison Coates paced Boone Grove's offense, picking up ten kills. Coates got some help from Pauly McCoy and his 14 assists. Finally, Coates was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

As for Zionsville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. The victory was nothing new for Zionsville as they're now sitting on four straight.

Zionsville found their leader in freshman Marik Mitchell, who had nine digs and three aces. Chris Hardt also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.

Coming up, Boone Grove will be playing at home against Westville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Zionsville, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Guerin Catholic on the 21st.
