Basketball Game Preview: Las Lomas Knights vs. Miramonte Matadors

The Las Lomas Knights will venture away from home to square off against the Miramonte Matadors at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Las Lomas came up short against Northgate and fell 55-43.

Meanwhile, Miramonte managed to keep up with Acalanes until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Miramonte came up short against Acalanes, falling 79-56. While losing is never fun, the Matadors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 446th, while the Dons are ranked 113th).

Miramonte has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.4 points per game. As for Las Lomas, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-12.

Las Lomas came up short against Miramonte in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 72-61. Thankfully for Las Lomas, Marcus Robinson (who went 9 for 15 on his way to 25 points along with five rebounds and three steals) won't be suiting up this time.
