Basketball Recap: Sullivan Skates Past Owen Valley with Ease

Sullivan came tearing into Thursday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Owen Valley Patriots 62-33. That's more bragging rights for the Golden Arrows, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Sullivan was led to victory by Cooper Bock and Carson Granby. Bock went 7 for 13 on his way to 18 points and seven rebounds, while Granby went 6 of 12 to rack up 18 points along with six boards and five assists. Bock's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Paul Ridgway, who posted nine points.

Sullivan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive games.

Joey Richardson and Kaden White certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Richardson earned nine points, while White put up nine points.

Sullivan's victory bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Owen Valley, their defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-15.

Sullivan will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bloomfield at 7:30 p.m. on February 18th. As for Owen Valley, they are taking a road trip to square off against Eastern Greene at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
