Basketball Recap: Mt. Shasta Triumphs

Mt. Shasta and Anderson faced off in a Battle of the Bears on Thursday. The Mt. Shasta Bears walked away with a 57-44 win over the Anderson Cubs. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bears also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

The victory got Mt. Shasta back to even at 9-9. As for Anderson, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mt. Shasta won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Etna at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Mt. Shasta is facing Etna at the right time seeing as Etna is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Anderson, they will also get right back to it: they'll take on Central Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Anderson will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: Central Valley will have lost 13 straight heading into Friday's matchup.
