Recap: Frankton Eagles vs. Mississinewa Indians
There's no place like home for the Frankton Eagles, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Mississinewa on Friday and snuck past 47-45. That's another feather in the cap for Frankton, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Joey Wright continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 14 points along with five assists. Another player making a difference was Austin Nunley, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Mississinewa lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kobe Johnson, who scored 11 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Gannon Smith was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Frankton is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Mississinewa, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-6.
Frankton will be playing in front of their home fans against Daleville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Daleville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Frankton likes a good challenge. As for Mississinewa, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Pendleton Heights at 2:30 p.m. on February 10th. Pendleton Heights is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52.8 points per game this season.
