Baseball Recap: Franklin Takes a Loss

Franklin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hickory Hornets. The Knights were not able to make up for their defeat to the Hornets from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Drew Kockler made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Franklin is 2-1 when Kockler posts two or more stolen bases, but 2-4 otherwise.

Franklin now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Hickory, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Franklin has already played their next game, a 5-4 victory against Grove City on the 17th. As for Hickory, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Slippery Rock on the 17th.
