McEwen had won three straight at home, but on Monday they bumped up to 4-5 to make it four. They came out on top against the Santa Fe Wildcats by a score of 39-27. This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered a 62-59 loss the last time these two teams met.

As for Santa Fe, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-4. The contest marked their lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Santa Fe saw an underclassman step up: freshman Judson Slaughter posted six points.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McEwen and Stewart County will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played. The Warriors will need to watch out since the Rebels have now posted at least 55 points in their last five contests. Santa Fe and Huntland will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
