Basketball Recap: Woodberry Forest Comes Up Short

Woodberry Forest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through an 81-53 loss at the hands of the St. Anne's-Belfield Saints. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while the Saints are ranked third).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Anne's-Belfield to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chance Mallory, who went 11-for-18 on his way to 30 points and six rebounds. The game was Mallory's 14th in a row with at least 17 points. Austin Williford was another key player, dropping a double-double with 16 points and 11 boards.

Woodberry Forest's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for St. Anne's-Belfield, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-7.

As of now, neither Woodberry Forest nor St. Anne's-Belfield have any future games scheduled.
