Softball Recap: Santa Clara Has No Trouble Against Palo Alto

Santa Clara hadn't done well against Palo Alto recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Bruins blew past the Vikings 14-4. Considering the Bruins have won nine contests by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Chloe Boyes was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season. Marley Hernandez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run.

The victory made it two in a row for Santa Clara and bumps their season record up to 12-11. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Palo Alto, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-9.

As of now, neither Santa Clara nor the Vikings have any future games scheduled.
