Basketball Recap: Nelsonville-York Beats Berne Union for Their Fourth Straight Win

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Nelsonville-York ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Berne Union Rockets by a score of 74-66. The victory was familiar territory for the Buckeyes who have now won four contests in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Nelsonville-York to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alec Thompson, who went 9 of 20 on his way to 24 points in addition to five assists and five boards. The game was Thompson's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Landen Inman, who posted eight points along with seven steals and five assists.

Nelsonville-York's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Berne Union, their loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

Nelsonville-York will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Portsmouth West at 12:00 p.m. on December 28th. Berne Union will take on Miller in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Berne Union has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
