Baseball Recap: Madison Comprehensive Comes Up Short

Madison Comprehensive lost a heartbreaker to West Holmes when they met back in April of 2024, and they left with a heavy heart again on Wednesday. The Rams took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Liam Stone put in work while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over 5.2 innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one run.

In other batting news, Cameron Kuhn made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one double. Another player making a difference was Elijah Fox, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Madison Comprehensive's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for West Holmes, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-5.

Looking ahead, Madison Comprehensive will head out on the road to square off against Shelby at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Holmes, they will take on Hillsdale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
