Softball Recap: Vidalia's Losing Streak Snapped at Ten Games

Vidalia had to endure a ten-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Rayville Hornets 19-4 on Monday. The Vikings' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Kinsley LeBlanc was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She also put up three hits, which were her first of the season. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, five RBI, and two doubles.

In other batting news, Piper Weatherly was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in home runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Marlee Butler, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Vidalia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Vidalia's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Rayville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Coming up, Vidalia will challenge Buckeye at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rayville, they will square off against Block at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rayville has given up an average of 14.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
