Basketball Recap: Jay Comes Up Short

Jay was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 68-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Berryhill Chiefs. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 384th, while the Chiefs are ranked 155th).

Leading Berryhill to victory were Ethan Meza and Kameron Simpson. Meza went 7 for 12 from beyond the arc on his way to 23 points, while Simpson posted 13 points and six assists. Simpson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played dating back to last season. Zhacari Jackson was another key player, going 5 of 10 on his way to 10 points.

Jay's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Berryhill, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Jay wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 66-40 victory against Haskell on the 14th. As for Berryhill, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 54-43 win against Keys on the 14th.
