Softball Recap: Monarch Knights vs. Pompano Beach Golden Tornadoes
Monarch lost against Pompano Beach back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Monarch Knights took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pompano Beach Golden Tornadoes. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Gabriela Pearson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Pearson wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Monarch kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. This was only their first loss (out of three games) when they post 11 or more hits.
Monarch's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Pompano Beach, they pushed their record up to 7-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monarch will take on South Broward at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. South Broward is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season. As for Pompano Beach, they will host Pine Crest at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pompano Beach is facing Pine Crest at the right time seeing as Pine Crest is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
