Basketball Recap: Bayfield Extends Winning Streak to Three

Bayfield waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They had just enough and edged the Washburn Castle Guards out 68-65. For the Trollers, this counts as revenge for the 86-77 victory the Castle Guards walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Bayfield's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Quintin Bresette, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 16 assists. That makes it five consecutive games in which Bresette has scored at least a third of Bayfield's points. Maxwell Gordon was another key player, dropping a double-double on 20 points and ten boards.

Bayfield pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Washburn, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Bayfield will challenge Mellen at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Washburn, they will square off against Butternut at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
