Basketball Recap: Gray's Creek Takes a Loss

Gray's Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 70-58 to the South View Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 70-47 back in January.

Antrell Gilmore continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for South View, putting up 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Darin Word, who posted ten points in addition to seven boards and five steals.

Gray's Creek's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for South View, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a massive bump to their 14-8 record this season.

Coming up, Gray's Creek will venture away from home to take on Jack Britt at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South View, they will welcome Cape Fear at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cape Fear will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something South View surely won't give up without a fight.
