Basketball Game Preview: Ferris Yellowjackets vs. Venus Bulldogs

Ferris has gone 9-1 against Venus recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Ferris Yellowjackets will square off against the Venus Bulldogs at 6:15 p.m. Ferris has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Ferris is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by Life Waxahachie to the tune of 65-32 on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Yellowjackets as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Ferris' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Arianna Carey, who went 7 for 10 on her way to 18 points. What's more, Carey also racked up two assists, the most she's had since back in January. Carly Quiroz was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, Venus had to suffer through a 69-41 loss at the hands of Kennedale.

Venus' defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Ferris, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.

Ferris strolled past Venus in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 70-54. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ferris since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
