Civic Memorial is 9-1 against Roxana since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Eagles will host the Shells at 4:30 p.m.

On Thursday, Civic Memorial didn't have quite enough to beat Marquette Catholic and fell 7-6. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Civic Memorial got a good showing from Brayden Prott, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the first time Prott hasn't allowed a single earned run since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Chase Butler was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season. Dane Godar was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Roxana came out on top against Springfield on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run sixth inning. The Shells sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over the Senators. That's two games straight that the Shells have won by just one run.

Roxana has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Civic Memorial, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
