Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Oxford Prep

Oxford Prep proved they can win big on Monday (they won by ten) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Voyager Academy Vikings 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Griffins have posted against the Vikings since March 12, 2020.

Oxford Prep's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Elizabeth Baker, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run.

The win was the third in a row for Oxford Prep, bringing their record up to 10-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Voyager Academy, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-6.

Oxford Prep wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 6-0 loss against South Granville on the 23rd. As for Voyager Academy, they have also already played their next game, a 16-0 win against Durham Academy on the 25th.
