Basketball Recap: Falconer Comes Up Short

Falconer played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Fredonia Hillbillies, falling 62-42. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 58-55 back in December of 2024.

Fredonia was led to victory by Colin Luce and Ashton Putney. Luce went 9 for 17 en route to 20 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks, while Putney went 6 of 10 from beyond the arc on his way to 22 points. The contest was Putney's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Luca Gullo, who posted seven points.

Falconer has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Fredonia, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-6.

Falconer will take on Dunkirk at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fredonia, they will square off against Lake Shore at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
