Football Recap: Enloe Extends Home Winning Streak to Four + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Millbrook, Enloe was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They secured a 28-22 W over the Corinth Holders Pirates. The score was all tied up 15-15 at the break, but the Eagles were the better team in the second half.

It was another big night for O'Sean Johnson, who rushed for 186 yards and one TD on only 14 carries. Those 186 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Enloe's defense stepped up as well, laying out David Jarman three times. Derek Matthis was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself. Enloe got some further help from Alex Chapman-Evans: he made nine total tackles (1.0 for loss) and snagged an interception which he returned for a touchdown.

When it comes to explaining why Corinth Holders lost, don't look at Blake Beckwith. Despite the final result, he rushed for 191 yards and three scores. Beckwith is becoming a predictor of the Pirates' success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is 3-1 (and 1-4 when he doesn't).

Enloe's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.8 points over those games. As for Corinth Holders, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Coming up, Enloe will take on Rolesville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Chase White and Amir Brown.
