Baseball Recap: Warren County's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

The matchup between Warren County and Wilson Prep on Wednesday hardly resembled the 2-1 effort from their previous meeting. The Eagles blew past the Tigers 17-4. Considering the Eagles have won ten matches by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Javier Marin was excellent, going 3-for-5 with two doubles and one triple. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Zemari Hymon, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Warren County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wilson Prep only managed three hits.

The victory was the third in a row for Warren County, bringing their record up to 10-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Wilson Prep, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Warren County beat the Tigers by a score of 19-3 on Thursday.
