Basketball Recap: Vinton-Shellsburg Comes Up Short

Vinton-Shellsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 67-54 to the Grinnell Tigers. The Vikings lost against the Tigers in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 78-41 score last time.

Vinton-Shellsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Grinnell, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vinton-Shellsburg has already played their next game (against Benton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Grinnell will face off against Clear Creek-Amana at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Clear Creek-Amana has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 229 points over their last three contests.
