Soccer Game Preview: Willow Canyon vs. Arizona College Prep

The Willow Canyon Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Arizona College Prep Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Willow Canyon's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Willow Canyon's tournament run continued when they took on Verrado on Friday. Willow Canyon fell just short of Verrado by a score of 3-2. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by just one goal.

Emma Miller and Sofia Vasquez scored both of Willow Canyon's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Arizona College Prep). Their defense stepped up to hand Maryvale an 8-0 shutout on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won five games by three goals or more so far this season.

Willow Canyon now has a losing record at 1-2-1. As for Arizona College Prep, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.
