Baseball Recap: Thoreau Takes a Loss

Thoreau was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Navajo Pine Warriors, falling 20-11. The Hawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 19-2.

Jordan Calladitto stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Beaudus Russette, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Thoreau's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Navajo Pine, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Thoreau beat the Warriors by a score of 10-6 later that day.
