Softball Recap: Golden Sierra Extends Winning Streak to Four

Golden Sierra had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They walked away with a 21-16 victory over the Rio Vista Rams. The game was the first time the Grizzlies have beaten the Rams on their field since May 3, 2022.

The team relied heavily on Tessa Hill, who went 5-for-6 with one home run, five runs, and three doubles. Those five runs gave her a new career-high. Cheyenna Ashmore was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Golden Sierra kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 22 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Golden Sierra pushed their record up to 10-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 23.0 runs over those games. As for Rio Vista, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-8.

As of now, neither Golden Sierra nor the Rams have any future games scheduled.
