Basketball Recap: Summit Christian Academy Snags 11th Win in Last 14 Games

On Thursday, the Summit Christian Academy Falcons made easy work of the Morgantown Christian Academy Mustangs and carried off a 61-40 victory. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Summit Christian Academy was led to victory by Bailee Martin and Ella Botts. Martin went 12-for-23 on her way to 26 points and five boards, while Botts almost dropped a triple-double with 17 points, nine assists, and nine steals. Botts' afternoon made it 22 games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Abby Greer was another key player, putting up nine points along with seven assists and three steals.

Summit Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points over those games. Morgantown Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9.

Coming up, Summit Christian Academy and Victory Baptist Academy will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. Victory Baptist Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Summit Christian Academy surely won't give up without a fight. Morgantown Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
