After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Nolan Catholic, Oakridge was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They blew past the Polytechnic Parrots 17-2. That looming 17-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Owls yet this season.

Asher Shimek made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, Oakridge got a massive performance out of Andrew Nelson, who scored four runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-4. Luke Dearman was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-3.

Oakridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win got Oakridge back to even at 4-4. As for Polytechnic, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6-1.

Oakridge didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Cleburne on the 6th. As for Polytechnic, they have also already played their next contest, a 22-5 loss against Bell on the 7th.
