Basketball Recap: Norwich Free Academy Takes a Loss

Norwich Free Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against the New London Whalers, falling 74-45. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 92-48 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

New London had a senior duo take command as Dashaun Phillips went 8 of 13 on his way to 20 points and three steals and Jaxyn Beaudet dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Beaudet has scored all season. Savahn Warren was another key player, putting up seven points.

Norwich Free Academy now has a losing record at 2-3. As for New London, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.

Norwich Free Academy will be playing at home against Hamden at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for New London, they are taking a road trip to face off against Pope Francis Prep at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday.
