Murray has won 13 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Jordan has won 13 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Spartans will welcome the Beetdiggers at 6:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Last Tuesday, Murray made easy work of Hillcrest and carried off a 3-0 win. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-10, 25-18.
Meanwhile, Jordan got the win against Tooele on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0.
The match was exciting from start to finish, as two sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. The final score came out to 25-17, 28-26, 27-25.
Murray better keep an eye on Nick Osborne. He was instrumental in Jordan's win, getting 15 digs and two aces. Ryan Hatch also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.
Jordan is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Murray, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's game: Murray has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 8.5 aces per game. However, it's not like Jordan struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.9 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Murray beat Jordan 3-1 in their previous meeting back in March. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Beetdiggers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
