Basketball Game Preview: Cloverdale Eagles vs. Anderson Valley Panthers

Cloverdale is on a three-game streak of home losses, Anderson Valley a 12-game streak of away losses dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Thursday. The Cloverdale Eagles will welcome the Anderson Valley Panthers at 8:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Cloverdale is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Middletown on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Cloverdale was beaten by Middletown 78-51. The Eagles were down 60-40 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Jaxson Randolph, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 13 points and four steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed four or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jesus Arizmendi, who posted 19 points.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 60 points the game before, Anderson Valley was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 75-20 loss at the hands of Mendocino.

Anderson Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Cloverdale, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Everything came up roses for Cloverdale against Anderson Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, as the team secured a 68-20 win. In that game, Cloverdale amassed a halftime lead of 40-13, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
