Baseball Recap: Jones Takes a Loss

Jones managed to slip by Calhoun the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Trojans came up short against the Sandcrabs on Tuesday, falling 9-1. The Trojans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Sandcrabs earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Jones saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Davyn Perez, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base.

This is the second loss in a row for Jones and nudges their season record down to 7-13-1. As for Calhoun, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-12-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jones will square off against Ingleside at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Calhoun, they will challenge Mathis at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
