Baseball Game Preview: Lakeside School Chiefs vs. Crenshaw Christian Academy Cougars

For the second straight game, Lakeside School will face off against Crenshaw Christian Academy. The Chiefs will host the Cougars at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Lakeside School's favor as the squad sits on 19 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Crenshaw Christian Academy has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Lakeside School lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Crenshaw Christian Academy, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's matchup. The Chiefs blew past the Cougars 13-1 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Chiefs, who have now won 21 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Carson Scott made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run.

In other batting news, Lakeside School let Tyler Mark Bullock and Conner Britton run wild. Bullock went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and one run, while Britton scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases Bullock has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Trent Hayes, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Lakeside School kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.

Lakeside School is on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 20 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 35-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Crenshaw Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
