Basketball Recap: Coosa Comes Up Short

Coosa lost against Fannin County back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The contest between the Coosa Eagles and the Fannin County Rebels didn't end well, with the Coosa Eagles falling 59-44. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 356th, while the Rebels are ranked 67th).

This is the second loss in a row for Coosa and nudges their season record down to 8-13. As for Fannin County, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coosa and Dade County will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Fannin County, they and Gordon Central will face off at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
